Walkatjara
Coasters
Walkatjara Art Uluru is an Aboriginal
Art Centre located in the Uluru-Kata
Tjuta Cultral centre. Walkatjara
means 'having design' in the Pitjantjatjara
language. The Artists' inspiration
is derived from their ancestral
lands, and the deep spiritual
importance of the ancient landscape.
The women artists who make up
the membership of the Art Centre,
live in the Mutitjulu Community
which is situated within the Uluru-Kata
National Park. This World
Heritage listed cultural landscape
is characterised by the red sand-dunes
and spinifex country of Central
Australia. Set of 6 exquisitely
designed, and unique coasters
in a decorated cardboard box.
